Commercial glass / Project guidance

Commercial glass maintenance

Glass maintenance begins with a clear record of recurring concerns. For managed properties, an organized list of affected openings helps separate items needing prompt assessment from replacements that may be planned around occupancy.

Build a useful condition record

Record the location, date noticed and nature of each issue: damaged panes, persistent cloudiness, loose visible components or recurring water near an opening. Describe observations without diagnosing the cause. Existing drawings and earlier repair records can help distinguish a repeat concern from a new one and reduce ambiguity when discussing scope.

Agree the boundaries of a maintenance request

A maintenance enquiry is not automatically a standing service agreement. The proposed tasks, inspection access and any follow-up replacements need to be defined. Cleaning, hardware servicing, façade investigation and glass replacement are different activities; identify which are requested so availability and responsibility can be confirmed for each.

Questions before
the next step.

Does this include a recurring maintenance contract?

A recurring arrangement is not promised. Enquire with the property details and intended scope so any available arrangement can be discussed explicitly.

Can maintenance prevent all future glass breakage?

No. A condition review can identify concerns for assessment, but it cannot guarantee that glass will not fail or be damaged later.
