Check the opening before defining the replacement

Identify whether the window is fixed or operable and whether the issue is broken glass, moisture between panes or water near the frame. Those observations point to different assessment needs. A glass-only replacement may be appropriate, but it does not automatically resolve worn hardware, a distorted sash or water entering from another part of the building.

Organize work by elevation and access

Use room numbers or a marked elevation drawing to identify each opening. Note interior obstructions, tenant access requirements and exterior access constraints. Upper-floor or otherwise difficult glazing requires a separate feasibility review; the page does not imply that every building height or access method is supported.
