Emergency glass repairs / Project guidance

Vandalism-damaged glass

Vandalism can leave glass shattered, cracked, scratched or marked while also affecting surrounding frames. The repair discussion should distinguish the visible damage and the condition of the opening without assuming that all surface damage can be removed.

Service suitability, location coverage and scheduling must be confirmed for your project.

Record the affected areas safely

Use existing records or observations from a safe position to identify each pane. Describe whether the damage appears to be on the surface or through the glass, and note associated frame or door damage. Do not approach loose glass for photographs. Questions about incident reporting or insurance evidence should be directed to the relevant authority or insurer.

Clarify the proposed remedy

Surface restoration is not promised: coatings, depth of damage and visibility can affect whether replacement is more appropriate. An assessment also needs to consider the glass specification and adjacent panels. If the opening is exposed, discuss temporary protection separately rather than waiting for the final replacement details to be settled.

Questions before
the next step.

Can scratches or graffiti always be removed from glass?

No. The material, finish and depth of damage affect the options. This page does not guarantee polishing, coating restoration or scratch removal.

Will a quote confirm what an insurer will pay?

No. Coverage and claims decisions belong to the insurer. Any requested documentation should be discussed separately from the proposed glazing work.
